In
addition to all the features found in the Standard version,
SBIC Pro offers additional benefits that are both powerful
and flexible.
What are these features and how can they benefit
you?
SBIC (Pro version and Standard version) ships with many
preset, pre-formatted reports. While we have done our best
to make the data available in an appealing format, we realize
that each of our clients may have specific reporting needs
not met by our standard reports. For this reason, SBIC Pro
allows you to modify the layout for any of our standard
reports. Do you want to add your company logo to your invoices
and reports? Or how about print your invoices or PO's on
pre-printed forms? With the Report Maker included with SBIC
Pro, you can easily change the report layouts to make such
things happen.
Along with modifying any existing SBIC report, the Pro
version also lets you create new reports from our preset
data sources. For example, a Packing Slip uses generally
the same information as an invoice (less the item prices
and totals). Therefore, the Packing Slip report that ships
with SBIC is nothing more than an additional report layout
linked to the "Invoice" data source. With this
functionality, you can create several reports for each set
of information. Different Invoices for different customer
types, different report styles for different printers, etc..
When creating the reports for SBIC, we had to be careful
to make sure each report is capable of being printed out
nicely on almost every type of printer. This means we were
not able to create our reports with color. With RyTech's
Report Maker included in SBIC Pro, you can add colors, images,
etc. to your reports and make them even more impressive.
As your inventory becomes larger or more complex, you will
probably turn to barcodes as a method of increasing your
efficiency and saving enormous amounts of time. SBIC Pro
has a special data entry mode (available through the Project
Settings) that converts various user interface elements
in the program to a more barcode-friendly entry mechanism.
One example would be when adding an item to an invoice.
With this mode turned on, you can configure your barcode
scanner to scan directly into the available item number
field. SBIC will work with both a tab and carriage return
as terminating characters (tab is preferred). For invoices,
there is even a rapid-entry mode that does not require you
to verify quantity or selling price.
Many of our clients also desire to integrate their accumulated
inventory or customer information into other software packages.
For this reason, SBIC Pro provides the ability to export
your data to an industry standard Microsoft Access database.
The exported database is created from a template database
located in the SBIC program directory, and has all the existing
table relationships setup. This also provides you with the
ability to modify the template database to add reports,
queries, etc. to show up in all your exported projects.
Finally, SBIC Pro allows you to quickly email selected
customers with a single button click. This saves you the
time of having to lookup the customer in your address book
or retype the entire email address.
