Print
your own EAN bar codes from within any Windows program! This
scalable TrueType font set lets nearly any existing Windows
program print bar codes.
Virtually every retail product sold
in Europe requires an EAN (European Article Numbering) bar
code. In addition, books the world over require a Bookland
bar code. Our software lets you include EAN or Bookland bar
codes in your product packaging, or when printing your own
labels.
The European Article Numbering system, EAN, was introduced
in 1978. There are two different versions of EAN bar codes,
EAN 8 and EAN 13 (which encodes 8 and 13 digit numbers,
respectively). A special EAN 13 bar code with a 5 digit
supplemental code is used to convert ISBN numbers and pricing
information to a bar code for books, called Bookland. EAN
bar codes encode fixed length numeric data. A checksum is
required, and checksum calculation is complex.
These scalable TrueType bar code fonts come in five different
aspect ratios, so you can vary the height and width of the
bars independent of each other. This lets you print bar
codes with the same height, but different horizontal print
densities.
Want to print bar codes in Access, Excel, or Word? We include
VBA macro functions that do all the work for you. If you
don't understand bar codes, just run the BarEAN utility
program (included in this package) to build bar codes for
you. The download version includes a manual in Rich Text
format compatible with any Windows word processor. The physical
package comes on CD with a printed manual.
