BTI (and SNX Software Inc.) is pleased to announce the introduction of RSS (Reduced Space Symbology) graphic software for Macintosh. RSS promises to be the next generation of bar code, developed in conjunction with the EAN.UCC organization, and adopted for use by over 104 member countries around the world. BTI RSS 2.4, the current version, introduces many new features and capabilities over earlier versions.
RSS is actually a family of symbologies, each developed for some marketplace efficiency such as speed, size or readability. BTI RSS 2.4 includes RSS-14, RSS Limited, RSS Stacked, RSS-EAN, RSS-UPC, RSS Stacked Omni Directional, RSS Omni Directional, and RSS EAN-128. Included is the ability to create any of these symbologies with a two-dimensional composite code.
RSS, using Application Identifiers (AIs), is an incredibly powerful encodation symbology. For example, the UPC (A) equivalent is a symbol about one-third the size of your thumbnail.
Also included in the package is the ability to work in color, vary size, Bar width reduction, and data length.
